Intro to NASDA — Hands-On Workshop
Four games. One very good nose.
Curious about NASDA but not quite sure where to start? Join Southern Plains Sport Dog Club for a beginner-friendly, hands-on introduction to four NASDA Level One games.
We’ll spend a little time learning what each game looks like—and a lot more time letting the dogs try them.
Working teams will get an opportunity to try all four:
- Trailing & Locating — Follow a scent trail to find quarry.
- Urban Locating — Search a defined area to find quarry.
- Shed Dog — Search for and locate a shed antler.
- Lost Item — Find an everyday object carrying your scent.
No previous NASDA experience is required. In fact, no previous dog sport experience is required. Your dog doesn’t need a trained alert or special skills to participate. Come ready to give your dog room to work, learn a little more about how they communicate, and have some fun together.
Registration
Space is limited and advance registration is required.
Submitting the registration form does not reserve your spot. Southern Plains Sport Dog Club will follow up by email with your registration status and payment information. Your space is confirmed once payment is received.
Once working or audit spaces are full, a waiting list will be maintained. No payment is required to join the waiting list.

A Few Things to Know
- This is an outdoor, rain-or-shine workshop, so come prepared for the weather and conditions.
- Working dogs should remain appropriately secured and under control when they aren’t working.
- Workshop activities are taught using positive reinforcement; choke, prong, and electronic collars may not be used while participating in workshop activities.
- Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the workshop are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations within 48 hours are non-refundable. Registrations are not transferable.
You don’t need to know exactly what your dog is doing yet.
